Create a Work Order

  1. Navigate to the Work Order object.
  2. Click New to create a new Work Order record.
  3. Add the required fields.
  4. Make sure to define the Price Book when creating the Work Order.

Create a Work Order Line Item

  1. From the Work Order Line Item Related List on the Work Order you just created, click New to add a new Work Order Line Item record.
  2. Add the required fields.
  3. Be sure to set the Product and Quantity.

When a Work Order Line Item is added to the Work Order and the Work Order Total Price > 0 or Total Price changes, a new Open Transaction is automatically created. If an Open Transaction already existed, it is updated to reflect the Balance Due amount.

Create a Service Appointment

Service Appointments

If "Auto-Create Service Appointment" is selected on a work type, a child service appointment is created when a Work Order or Work Order Line Item lists that work type. Check out the Salesforce Documentation on creating Service Appointments.

  1. Navigate to the Service Appointment object in the Related List on the Work Order that was created.
  2. Click New to add a record.
  3. Add the required fields.
  4. Click SaveP_03_create fsl rec 4

Add a Service Resource

Adding a Service Resource lets you see your Work Order and related records in the FSL mobile app.

  1. Go to the Service Resource Related List on the newly created Service Appointment record. 
  2. Click New to create a new Service Resource record.
  3. Set a value for the User and Location fields. 
  4. Set Active = "TRUE".

View Records in the FSL Mobile App

  1. Go to the Field Service app on your mobile device.
  2. Click the Service Appointment record that you have assigned to yourself (or to the user logged into the FSL Mobile app). Clicking the Service Appointment opens the Work Order.
  3. Complete the payment process by either using the Mobile Pay option from Actions or by navigating to the Details tab and clicking Pay in the Mobile Pay field.
