This guide is for event staff checking in Attendees. Event staff only need basic familiarity with the Mobile Check-in app—no technical expertise is required.
What is Swift Mode?
The Swift Mode feature for the Mobile Check-in app is designed to make the Event check-in experience faster and more reliable, especially for large Events or when internet connectivity is limited.
Unlike the traditional approach, where each check-in is sent to the server one at a time (a “one-off” sync), Swift Mode works by saving all check-ins locally on your device as you go. When you're ready to sync, these check-ins are then grouped and sent to the server in a single batch.
The batching process greatly reduces the number of API calls made to the server, speeding up the check-in process and helping prevent slowdowns and errors when handling thousands of Attendees. By syncing in batches, Swift Mode ensures that check-ins are quick, efficient, and less likely to be interrupted by network issues, making it ideal for busy, high-volume Events.
