Bug Fixes
Campaign and bulk SMS sends
- Every message in a Campaign send is now saved in Salesforce as an SMS Message record before it is sent. If the send fails, the record's Status is updated to Error and the reason is shown in Error Message. Previously, in orgs with other automation running on SMS Messages, a message could be delivered to the recipient with no SMS Message record left in Salesforce, so there was no record that it was sent.
- Campaigns with more than 50,000 Campaign Members now send to all members. Previously, the send could fail before any messages went out and no SMS Message records were created.
- Campaign sends now use fewer Salesforce resources on each batch, so they are less likely to hit Salesforce limits when other automation runs in your org.
- When a Flow sends bulk SMS messages, recipients that can't be sent to now get an SMS Message record with Status set to Error and an Error Message explaining why. Previously, these recipients were skipped with no record and no error. This covers three cases:
- A required value (to number, from number, parent record, or owner) is blank. The error message lists the blank fields.
- The Flow runs in a context where Salesforce doesn't allow the message to be queued.
- Your org has reached its Salesforce limit for queued jobs.
Tip: To find messages that didn't send, filter SMS Message records where Status equals Error and check the Error Message field.
Installing and upgrading
- Messaging now installs and upgrades from Candy Shop without the error "The component must implement at least one of flexipage:availableForAllPageTypes, lightning:utilityItem interface." Previously, some orgs couldn't upgrade to 3.53 and the upgrade rolled back. If your org is still on 3.52 because of this error, you can now upgrade to 3.55. The Blackthorn Messaging Messenger component can now also be added to any Lightning page type in Lightning App Builder.
Upgrading from Version 3.52
If you are upgrading from 3.52, you also get this change from version 3.53:
- When an admin connects Messaging on the Messaging admin page, the connection now uses PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange), a more secure way to sign in with OAuth. No setup is required.
Field/Layout Updates
This release has no new or changed objects, fields, page layouts, or permission sets.
