Import Classic Email Templates

Complete the steps below to import Classic email templates into Blackthorn Events.

1. Go to Setup.

2. In the Quick Find box, enter and click “Classic Email Templates”.

3. Select the Blackthorn | Events folder.

4. Click Event Invite Email (HTML).

5. Copy the email template Id from the search bar. It should look like “00XP0000003IG5J”.

6. Open a new tab.

7. Add the copied text to the domain after ”/“. It should look like this. “yourorgname.lightning.force.com/lightning/_classic/%2F00XP0000003IG5J”

8. It will then be processed to another Id that will look like this. “yourorgname.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/EmailTemplate/00XP0000003ig5JMAQ/view”

9. Copy the Email Template Id.

10. Go to the Email Template tab. If you haven’t created one yet, ceate a tab for email templates.

11. Switch to Salesforce Classic.

12. Go to the Email Template tab.

13. Click New.

14. Enter the following information.

    • Email Template Name
    • Event - Select an Event in the lookup field.
    • SF Template Id - Enter the Id Created in Step 8.
    • Add “{}” (curly brackets) in the JSON File 1 field.

15. Click Save.

16. Your email template will be created in Salesforce Classic.

17. Click Switch to Lightning Experience to go to Salesforce Lightning Experience.

18. The Email Template Builder will open.

19. Drag and drop the HTML tile (to the blue box).

20. Click into the new HTML block.

21. In a new tab, go to Setup.

22. In the Quick Find box, enter and click “Classic Email Templates”.

23. Click Event Invite Email (HTML).

24. Click Edit HTML Version.

25. Copy the text in the HTML Body field.

26. Go back to the open Email Template Builder.

27. Paste the HTML code.

28. Click Save.

29. Review the Email Template Details.

30. Click Save.
