✨ What's new
🎨 A new Blackthorn look
The app has a new icon, a green Blackthorn color scheme, and an updated login and launch screen. Everything works the same way; only the look has changed. Let your staff know so they can find the new icon on their devices.
🧾 See which check-ins didn't sync
If a check-in, check-out or walk-up registration can't be saved to Salesforce, it now appears on a new Error Logs screen, so staff can follow up instead of finding out after the event. Open an event, tap the More options (⋮) button, and choose Error Logs. Each entry shows the attendee, what was attempted, and when. Tap Share to send the list to whoever is following up.
Users with the View Mobile Check-In Error Log Details permission can also tap an entry to see the full error, which helps your Salesforce admin or Blackthorn Support resolve it.
👥 Open attendee details from a session
In a session's attendee list, tap an attendee to open their details. From there, Check In and Undo Check In apply to that session.
🔜 Coming this month: Kiosk Mode (early access)
Kiosk Mode arrives in early access this month. It lets attendees check themselves in at a self-service station running the Mobile Check-in App, so your staff can focus on the people who need help. Kiosk Mode is part of a new set of premium onsite features designed to make check-in faster and your event day run more smoothly, with badge design and badge printing coming soon.
Early access is available on request, and requires Events 5.66 and Mobile Check-in App Build 1.4.7. To learn more about Kiosk Mode and the onsite features that are right for your events, reach out to your CSM or Blackthorn Support.
🐛 What's fixed
- Sync status easier to see: Previously, the refresh icon on the attendee list was hard to see while changes were waiting to sync. Now it shows a clear upload icon when there are unsynced changes and a spinning icon while syncing.
- Search on iPhone and iPad: Previously, tapping the search icon on iOS didn't open the keyboard until you tapped the search field again. Now the keyboard opens on the first tap.
- Walk-up warning works offline: Previously, when a device was offline, Add Attendee could let staff save a walk-up for an event that isn't set up for walk-up registration, and the registration failed to sync later. Now the warning appears and saving is blocked whether the device is online or offline.
⚙️ Requirements
| iOS | iOS 17.0 or later: unchanged |
| Android | Android 9 (API 28) or later: unchanged |
| Events managed package | No change required. Error log details use a permission included in Events 5.60 and later [confirm the version that shipped AMT-197] |

🛠️ Technical reference for Salesforce admins
Error Logs
- Available in standard check-in. Swift Mode has its own Sync Manager and is not included.
- Entries are stored on the device, up to 200 per event, and are cleared when the user logs out.
- Custom permission · View Mobile Check-In Error Log Details ·
conference360__View_Mobile_CheckIn_Error_Log_Details. Included in Blackthorn | Events (Admin). Assign it to other users through a permission set to let them see full error details. Users without it see the list and can share it, but not the full error.
Walk-up warning
- The app checks walk-up setup from the event list it last loaded. If you fix an event's walk-up setup in Salesforce, refresh the event list on the device to clear the warning.
