The Blackthorn Event Navigator app honors the Advanced Visibility Rules (BT Rules) you configure on an Event. Use rules to control which Sessions, tabs, and content each attendee can see in the app, based on criteria you define.
Note: As of Navigator v1.6 (April 2026), Advanced Visibility Rules configured for an Event work correctly in Navigator. Previously, attendees who had BT Rules applied could not see any Sessions; now only the restricted Sessions and tabs are hidden, and everything else displays normally.
How it works
When you apply Advanced Visibility Rules to an Event, Navigator evaluates them per attendee and hides only the items the attendee isn't permitted to see. Rules can affect what appears across these areas of the app:
- Sessions view and Agenda
- Attendees tab
- Ticket tab
- Profile tab
- Map tab
Attendees without restrictions continue to see the full set of Sessions and tabs.
Setting up rules
Advanced Visibility Rules are configured on the Event using BT Rules, evaluated against the Attendee. See the Blackthorn Visibility Rules documentation for how to build and apply rules; once configured, Navigator applies them automatically — no app-side setup is required.
