Changes to the Mobile Apps Login Process
Starting January 20, 2026, both the Mobile Payments and Mobile Check-in apps may require new users to activate their devices during the Salesforce login process. The Salesforce article, “Device Activation for Salesforce Orgs,” explains the device activation process.
Whether a new user needs to activate their device will be determined by the customer’s org settings. Additional information can be found here: “Changes to Device Activation for Single Sign-On (SSO) Logins.”
Bug Fixes
Offline Mode: When a user enables Offline Mode in the iOS Mobile Check-in app and tries to scan a QR code, they will see a yellow Offline Mode indicator bar at the top of the screen, reminding them to go online. Previously, the yellow bar did not appear.
Attendee Records: After updating an existing Attendee’s name on their Attendee record in Salesforce, a Mobile Check-in app user will see the updated name on the Mobile Check-in app’s “Check In History” screen for the related Event.
User Experience: An Event’s Event Name on the “Select Event” screen in the Mobile Check-in app now follows proper line-breaking rules, preventing words from splitting mid-word and improving readability. Previously, long words were split at random points.
Badge Printing: When a Mobile Check-in app user prints a badge from an iPad, the badge prints as expected. Previously, the badges were printed off-center and skewed. New size constraints to the printable area for devices with larger screens ensure consistent badge positioning across all mobile devices.
Enhancements
Walk-up Attendee Registrations
When using the Mobile Check-in app’s standard mode, Event Organizers can show or hide the Add Attendee button, providing greater control over the registration experience on the day of the Event. Event Staff will see the Add Attendee button when the Event Settings Allow Walk Up Registrations field is checked. This update changes the default behavior. If Allow Walk Up Registrations is unchecked (new default setting), Event Staff can only check in pre-registered Attendees.
However, if the related Salesforce org uses an older version (prior to version 5.32) and doesn’t have the Allow Walk Up Registrations field, the Add Attendee button used for walk-up registrations will remain available on the Mobile Check-in app. Previously, the Add Attendee button disappeared in the Mobile Check-in app when using older Salesforce versions.
NOTE: The Allow Walk Up Registrations field functionality is not yet available for Kiosk Mode.
Known Issues
Mobile Check-in app - Swift Mode Check-in Issue: When the Mobile Check-in app’s Swift Mode Check-in feature is enabled on an Android device, the New Attendee and Scanner icons overlap in Swift Mode Check-in.
Mobile Check-in app - Partner Community Users: A Partner Community User cannot check out a Session Attendee from the Mobile Check-in app. After clicking the Sync button, synchronization does not occur. The Sync button remains yellow, and the Attendee’s status is not updated.
