A short code is a shorter telephone number used to send and receive SMS and MMS messages between mobile phones.
You may want to use short codes instead of a traditional ten-digit number to send large volumes of messages in a short amount of time. Since short codes are pre-approved by carriers, they are less likely to be labeled as spam.
