Provision Licenses

📘

Note: This step does not apply if you are on the free trial. However, you will need to complete this step once you purchase Blackthorn licenses in order to provide access to the app for designated users.

After you purchase Blackthorn licenses, you will need to assign them to the designated users to give those users access to the app.

Keep in mind, if you ever need to transfer licenses between users, you can follow the same process to do so.

Assign users to the Payments Application

📘

Event Customers

At a minimum, you'll need the events authorization user assigned to a payments license (even if you only have free events).

  1. From Setup, navigate to:
  • Lightning: Apps | Packaging | Installed Packages.
  • Classic: Build | Installed Packages.
  1. Click on Manage Licenses next to Blackthorn | Payments.
  2. Click Add Users.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Click Add.

Assign users to the Events Application (if applicable)

📘

Skip this step

If you are just purchasing just Payments or if you have purchased Events based on registrations and have a site license.

  1. From Setup, navigate to:
  • Lightning: Apps | Packaging | Installed Packages.
  • Classic: Build | Installed Packages.
  1. Click on Manage Licenses next to Blackthorn | Events.
  2. Click Add Users.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Click Add.

Permission Sets

Payments Permission Sets

Payments access is managed by permission sets. After installation, it is necessary to assign permission sets to the designated users to ensure that they have the necessary level of access to the app.

Out of the box, Blackthorn provides a set of pre-configured permission sets that can be assigned to users. Below you will find information about the different permission sets.

🚧

Important!

If you create a custom permission set, you will need to modify it with every new release of Payments to ensure that the users with the custom permission set continue to have access to all of the necessary functionality of the app.

Payments Admin

It is possible to designate certain Payments users with power user access using the Blackthorn | Payments Admin permission set. This permission set opens up full access to the entire app.
This includes Create/Read/Update/Delete. This permission set does not include View All or Modify All.

Payments Manager

This permission set provides Create/Read/Update/Delete for all Payments objects, except Payment Gateway, which only includes Read. The payments setup wizard and admin tabs are not available or visible.

Payments User

This permission set provides Create/Read/Update for all Payments objects, except Payment Gateway, which only includes Read. Not Delete or Modify All for any objects. The payments setup wizard and admin tabs are not available or visible.

Payments Community/Platform User

This permission set provides Create/Read/Update for all Payments objects, except Payment Gateway, which only includes Read. No Assigned Apps. No Lead or Opportunity field access.
