Before you configure the Events app or activate Scheduled Jobs, sign in as the user who will authorize Events. That user needs all of the following:
- The Blackthorn | Events (Admin) permission set. It can be assigned directly or through a permission set group.
- A profile with Modify All Data enabled. This is checked on the profile itself, so granting Modify All Data through a permission set does not satisfy it.
- A standard Salesforce user. Community, portal, and guest users cannot authorize Events.
If you were previously advised to use a dedicated Integration User for this, that guidance is retired. Because the authorizing user must have Modify All Data on their profile, an integration-only license is not suitable. See Authorize Events for the full setup and for how to reauthorize.

Meet the New Welcome Mat!
After installing/upgrading the Events app, you will see the Welcome Mat or in-app guidance on the Blackthorn | Events Admin page. Choose to dismiss the Welcome Mat, preventing it from loading after navigating to the Blackthorn | Events Admin page, or select one of the following options:
